Biographical history
Né le 29 février 1948 à Montréal, Yvon Chagnon est le fils de Henri Chagnon et de Laurette Lapierre. Après ses études, il vient s'établir à Amos en 1973 et ouvre le Studio de photographie Yvon. Après seulement un an, il délaisse ce commerce pour travailler au journal l'Écho d'Amos en tant que photographe. En 1978, il fonde son propre journal « Le Reflet », qui est publié jusqu'en 1981. Par la suite, il fait paraître plusieurs cahiers spéciaux sous l'appellation « L'Historien » de 1983 à 1985, puis la revue « L'Économie » de 1986 à 1988. En 1989, il fonde le journal « Super Gazette », qui devient plus tard « Impact Abitibi » publié jusqu'en 1995.
M. Chagnon a également été photographe du Tournoi Midget d'Amos durant 6 ans et s'est occupé de la publication « Le Babillard ».
Innovateur dans son domaine, Yvon Chagnon fait maintenant de la photographie numérique.
