Biographical history
Né à Plaisance, comté de Papineau, le 21 octobre 1903, Paul-Édouard Lavoie se prépare à l'enseignement chez les Frères des Écoles Chrétiennes, d'où il obtient son diplôme en 1926. Il enseigne à plusieurs endroits, travaillant aussi aux statistiques fédérales. C'est en août 1934 qu'il obtient le diplôme d'inspecteur d'école. Il est nommé inspecteur le 24 juillet 1936 et vient prendre son poste à Amos le 13 septembre suivant. En 1955, il reçoit la plus haute décoration : celle de « Commandeur de l'Ordre du Mérite Scolaire ». Il est nommé inspecteur régional en août 1957 et occupe son poste jusqu'en décembre 1960.
M. Lavoie est décédé à Amos, le 17 mai 1972.
